friday is here the skies are clear the boys were screaming so I can hardly hear
my day is busy goes so fast I'm dizzy and if they keep not listening I'll have a tizzy.

heheheheheheh

Ok...so...obviously I have had too little sleep, too much allergy medicine and diet coke and I am delirious. That is ok though.

So..yes...allergy season is upon on us my friends. The valley of California is blooming and growing and blowing. I look hardly recognizable...eyes all red and swollen. I was so happy earlier this month...thought I had found the wonder drug and it was over the counter (my insurance--such as it is--is stingy with their meds)!
But, alas, it's welcomed relief is eluding me of late. Such sorrow.

My back yard is a mess (more so then before) and half the house siding is laying in a pile. We finally caved and hired people (my daughter's boyfriend and his friend....what was I thinkinggggg? I am such a believer in don't hire friends unless they are true professionals in every sense of the word...I hope I don't live to regret this)to attack the house. Bran just has not had time and it is at least a year overdue! So...between the banging and the boys wanting to go "supervise"...we have been trying to stay gone.

I am so proud of myself. I attacked my "catch-all room" You know the one...it starts off as a guest room. Then you start placing things you don't really know what to do with but you just CANNOT live without in there. Then, before you know it, you can't walk in there. Your child is missing.....you hear him calling to you...from the direction of "the room". Panic sets in...should you go get a life preserver? Call the fire department? You brace yourself and wade in....pusing aside the piles of art suplies, blankets and stuffed animals. You find him...you can almost reach him...you grab your old girl scout uniform and fashion a make shift lasso out of it...after the third attempt...you catch his left ankle and you know you only have one shot...you pull and you both tumble to safety on the other side of the door. Quickly you shut the door just as you hear a crash that can only mean an avalanche of junk just happened on the other side.

So, yeah....I did it...is is spic and span and organized. PhEwwwww. that was a relief. That room is the bane of my hubby's existance. So...last night...I said...honey....now that you are in...could you please do me a favor??? Mogley (the cat) left you a present in the spare room...it is too gross....I can't get it. Pleassseeee. So he armed himself with paper towels and a bag and headed on back...and I heard him say Holy CoWWWWW! lol. teehhheee. So now I think I have at least two guilt free nights of digi scrapping awarded me,lol.

Now...I need some advice here....my oldest son just turned 5 in November. He goes to school...remember...my teacher and problems I mentioned. Well...they are having a field trip coming up. To go to a high school to see a play. The school is 45 mins away...so that is a bus trip. Then they want to go to the zoo after. When I first learned of this trip...the teacher asked me to go. I asked again if I was still going...she hemmed and hawed and said we would talk about it. Now...people...I am trying to be a cool mom. But I soooooo don't feel comfortable with them taking my child for the day...there won't be a lot of adult supervision..our teacher is kind of...nervous and scatterbrained (though highly intelligent etc). I just sooooo don't feel good about this. NOr does my hubby. Nor does a couple other parents. So...if I don't get to come...trying to think of what to do. Follow behind in my car and sit outside while they are in the play and go with them to the zoo is what I came up with. I don't want him not to go. ARggghhhh. I hate this kind of thing. I dont' want to be overprotective...but come on...he has never ever ever done anything like that without me. What would you do? What do you think? Just curious! arghhhhhhh.

Here is a little something I made as a prize for my mixed bag challenge at SDK: goes with the prize for Oriana's chat tonight (see post below)

I already concluded the first part...but if you reallly want to get it we could work something out...just leave me a comment and I will give you your task ;).

And...as a little freebie for today...I made a sticker border and a regular version of it for you. Enjoy.

Click here to download...leave me a high five

Ok...enough chattering...off to grocery shop, hit the thrift store (to buy more junk ;)) and then pick up the monkies!

Thanks for the sticker border. And congrats on getting "the room" cleaned up. I don't have the nerve to go into mine, but maybe this has inspired me!

You really make me crack up. I had tears of laughter running down my face while reading your story about the catch-all room out load to my boyfriend. You are hilarious. I have a catch-all room too, but mine happens to be our home office where we have our PCs....I wish I could tackle that room too.
About your little boy, I would let him go alone, if they have at least one adult per 8 children. I don't know how big the class is, but with like 20 kids they should have 3 adults supervising: one in the front, one in the back and one for potty trips, etc. When our day-care goes on trips every kid has a buddy, which they hold hands with. That way they don't run around wild and are not afraid. Our little booger-boy loves day-trips and doesn't miss me one bit (sigh, but I miss him) and he behaves a lot better on day-care trips than with us...

Your poem made me giggle, Tracy! I have no idea what I would do about the zoo day... but I'm sure you will figure out something that works for everyone and have fun with it too. Thanks for the goodies. :)

HI TEN!! I love it!!

I love the sticker look, cute! Thank you

well...being the protective mom AND having worked in a school myself before having kids, I have to say that I personally would either go or do what you said and wait outside and then go to the zoo. I know how easy it is to get disoriented with a group of young kids in a new place, especially if there is not enough parental "eyes" to make sure noone wanders off...better safe then sorry...thanks for the cool stuff! Hope that helps...

Thanks so much for the sticker doodle. Your prize kit looks great! Did the first half of the challenge, now have to find time for the second.

ROTFL!! I think I need some of your meds and Diet Coke!! You're too funny!

Congrats on getting the room cleaned up. We had one of those, but it's Kaylee's room now, and the guest room gets too many guests for stuff to pile up in there.

I think you need to trust your gut on the school thing. I'd find some way to go, or keep him out and just go do something fun yourselves. Honestly, a long bus ride, a play, AND the zoo sounds like a really long day for that age anyway, unless it's a very small zoo.

The borders are very cute! Thanks! Hope your allergies are better!

Thank you so much for the border - so cute!! I would feel the same way. Just tell the teacher that you are uncomfortable with the situation and you ARE going on the trip with your son end of story. I mean this is a BUS trip - with no seatbelts for 45 minutes?? I wouldn't feel comfortable either. You could always ask for the directions and drive your son youself.

Thank you for sharing your talents with us! When I grow up, tee hee, I wanna be just like you. :)
The whole school thing is really a tough call, but you have some great insight into both the teacher and your own child. Trust your judgement...it is sooo much easier to be un-cool than it is to be sorry. I think the driving your son yourself idea is a great one!

I dunno how it is in California, but here in Florida, the state law says that on a School bus on a field trip there is to be 1 chaperone per 10 students. I'd find out what your particular law is concerning this.
Most field trips to the Zoo I've ever taken here, a parent (chaperone) was assigned about 4 kids each.
The teacher has her roll with all the kids names on it as well as all medical forms that you sign before they go on the trip so that in case something happens, they will be prepared.
All the teachers I have ever seen call roll before the bus leaves to go and then again before they come back from the trip.
There are always cars following the buses on field trips because we usually don't have enough room to put all the parents on the buses that want to ride.
I can't speak for the teacher, but I can speak for the bus drivers.
They are highly trained professionals that take their jobs very seriously. They are hauling our most precious cargo, and they know it.

LOL love that story. That was my son's nursery when we moved here. He's now 2 months old & still has mommy & daddy's crap in small piles in his room. As far as the zoo thing, I would find out how many adults are going & what kind of plan they have for keeping the kids together. If you cant wrangle a chaparone position for yourself, then see if you can tag along. I would have confidence in the school & teacher to get your son back to you safe & sound & happy he went on a trip alone. Thanks for the doodle border.

Thanks for the goodies. I don't think it would hurt to call up the teacher and ask questions. It may be a matter of money or space. If you tell her you will pay your own way or drive yourself etc I don't see a prob. I went on a similar trip with my son's class when he was in about 3rd grade. They had about 1 parent for each 4 or 5 kids...and it was needed.

Thank you very much for the nice borders.. I can't decide which I like best, the regular or the stickers one. I'll probably use 'em both. :)

Love, love, love it! Thanks for the border. And I totally want the add-on too (even though I didn't win the kit it goes with, lol).

At least we both won something last night. =] What a riot that chat was!

I definitely agree with your plan for the field trip. I did that once on one of Reed's field trips. Not because the teacher wouldn't let me chaperone, but because siblings weren't allowed on the bus and I had to bring Owen with me. So another mom and I carpooled down and tagged along with Reed's group at the zoo.

I participated in my first chat last night with Oriana after I read your blog yesterday. It was definitely hard to keep up. Everything was moving so fast. In the end though I won your Spring Dreams kit. It is beautiful. Then, this morning I picked up the sticker border. Now if I could just get the add-on. hehe

So cute with the regular & sticker borders. Love the little critters, so cutely aligned. I had to smile about the room. I guess I could take a hint & do the same thing, or maybe not. "SMILE." TFS.

Your blog gave me such a chuckle! When my kids were little I went on every field trip! One time I took my car and tried to follow the bus to the kids museum in LA and got terribly lost. I thought, how can you lose a bus! Well I finally found a policeman who gave me directions, but when I got to the street he told me it was all blocked off. Thank goodness he was ahead of me and so I followed him and he got me there. Needless to say I was a total wreck! So if you decide to go make sure you take a map!

Also, about your allergies, have you ever tried bee pollen? My dh cousin had terrible allergies and he took bee pollen and it cleared them up. He says you have to find a place that sells bee pollen from the area where you live or it doesn't work. Something you could look into. I am sure you could google it and find out about it. Thanks for the goodies!

Ok, 1st note to myself: do not read Tracy's blog while drinking my morning coffee! lol Not good for the computer screen to wear coffee! :)

Serously love your blog, love your sense of humor and yes my scrap area was my catch all and I cleaned it up a couple of months ago, WHEW what a job as I am a paper scrapper just learning Digi (and getting totally addicted I might add)

I would totally love a chance at your lovely kit if you are still willing to assign me a task. It will push me to try something new I am sure, since most of it is new anyway!

Now about your son and the field trip. Bottom line, you are the Mom and you need to do what feels best for your family. You want him to be able to go so I say do what you need to so that you feel safe.

Happy Sunday!
