Kapowwwwwwwwww! Here I am 2009. Coughing wheezing and shuffling...but DAMN it all. I am here. I made it through. Hubby and I high-fived and kissed at midnight. It was one battered end to my year....those last few months. We still are not sure what will happen...if we will have a job...if we can stay here...if we will have to relocate...but I feel positive.

Something about the first time you open your eyes on that first day of a new year. You somehow can't help but have hope. That you can forget or at least learn from all that went wrong the year before. That this year will be a GREAT year...maybe even THE year. That this is the year you will finally make and keep a resolution. And you can revel in all the pure silky goodness of the previous years' triumphs, snuggles, get togethers w/friends, snow angels, feeling so good it hurts, pool splash fights, mud on noses, best cookies ever, candlelight, rain rain rain, stretching cats, hugs from hubby/parent/friend/kid, great books, uncontrolled giggling, doors held open (literally and figuratively), chocolate, fave lotions, Christmas lights, child's singing, eyelashes against cheeks, sunsets, brisk mornings, board game nights, sing a longs in the car, bubble mohawks, the ocean, swinging, fresh sheets, neck nuzzling, unexpected card, an ah-ha moment, hand made blankets, forgiveness, corny knock knock jokes, unconditional love, crying from happiness, lose pants, handpicked flowers, bursting pinatas, campfires, walking hand in hand, smiling strangers, ice cold diet soda...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I made a few "resolutions"...what the heck...something might catch ;)

health. lose weight (not a specific number...just get some off). exercise. some. each day. Get rid of some not so healthy habits.

Breathe. deeply. relax. focus. before I talk (criticize, gossip, give advice etc).

Laugh. More. Loudly. Like I used to. With family. With friends. at myself.

Learn. From mistakes. don't repeat. maybe take a class? read more than for my book club.

Cultivate. Friendships. A garden. My children. To plow, seed, grow, weed and reap all that life has to offer me.

yes. I am ready. Bring on 40 next month. I ain't skeered!

I am also joining in on the Project 365. Take a pic each day. Not doing a real theme. Just going with it.

Here is my first pic for the year and for the project. It represents so many things to me. Want to read about what? Click here to go to my 365 blog.

And. It has been oh so long since a freebie template graced the pages. Like over a month and a half. yikes.

so. here is one ...and it is geared to the 365 players (though not only for). Hope someone can use it.

click here to download (send your friends....don't just give them the link....make them look at my pics too, hehehe)

so....may your heart be full and happy this year. find peace with in. find something to make you smile each day.

hugs and happy scrapping

Tracy...you're back!! So happy to see you! Your list of "good things" really made me think that sometimes we forget about the little things that make life so amazing. I think that'll be my resolution...find joy in the little things. Thank you for helping me with a resolution :) and for the freebie...it's great as usual. Happy New Year.

WoW! Thanks for that post! I'm new to your blog, so I want you to know I said a little prayer for your 2009! I believe it will be a great year too!

Your blog is adorable, and I love blog decor, and I even made a blog for scrappers about blogging. I would love for you to visit if you have time...hey it might even lead to cultivating a new cyber friend (does that count on your resolutions)?...LOL!

Here’s to more happy scrapping, and
Hugs from the heart,
Jeanette
