Hi and howdy scrappers! How has life been treating you? It has been many moons sine I have visited this poor neglected blog. But guess what?!?! I am backkkkk. I made some life changes and shifted and looked at my priorities and here I am. Want to know what I have been up to?

The end of the school year was when I last checked in with you. I was bombarded with parties, swim days, preschool graduation and more. We made it through with nary a scratch and hit the summer vacation full speed ahead.

I got to go on many little side trips with my family...much needed.

My cousins from Massachusetts came out and we went with them to Calistoga. We stayed in a lovely little place with mineral pools (three with varying degrees of temp) and cozy rooms (more like little apartments). I could have stayed for a month. Very relaxing and such a cozy little town. While there we went to the Petrified Forest and to Old Faithful. The boys LOVED it!!

Then we spent the Fourth of July w/Brandon's friends. Lots of fun!

then off to Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park in Nevada. There is an old mining town and Ichthysaurus fossils. Chase has been itching to go there for two years! It was veryyy cool!

Then the highlight!! We flew to Minnesota to visit my bestie...Missy and family. We stayed for two weeks and had so muchhhhh fun! We went camping where we played bags, drank a lot, ate a lot, rode four wheelers and laughed! Then we went back to their house where we thrift shopped, went to the zoo, the lake, Duluth and saw the most awesome storm. I had so much fun. I miss them soooo much. I will save my pictures of that vacation for next post :)

Now the boys are in school (Chase started 3rd grade and Hayden is in kindy.) I am at the school quite a bit...even trying to get a job part time there. They both are playing soccer as well! woohooo. Go Red Bulls and the Tigers!!

All this fun led me to my decision to take a break from designing my templates for sale. I just couldn't keep up with everything. And I wanted to get back to the side of scrapping I love...the actual scrapping! Woohooo! So get ready for lots of pages!!! This decision had nothing to do with my love for FPD. They are still my girls and I love them dearly. They have new and great stuff going on there and I look forward to participating!

And I will be giving my templates away again...another woohoo. Today I am giving you a template to continue my project 65! I have some die hards who really wanted to continue!!

thanks for all the love for my friend jess. boy do I have some exciting news where she is concerned. I cannot tell you now...but woowweeeeeeeeeeeee. gigggle!

what have we been up to. lots and lots of baseball. chase had his last game (which we wonnnnnn) and his end of year party. went to a birthday party at the Gauche Aquatic Park in town. that was funnnnnnnn. have a big water slide. lap pools w/diving boards. then a pool that goes from chest level on me to angle level. it has lots of things for the little ones to play on including kid slides, water cannons, sprinklers etc. love that place. then Chase's last musical concert of the year. the whole second grade sung...very cool. the trike a thon the preschool did for st judes children's hospital went great!!! on friday I will be chaperoning Chase's end of the year party at the aquatic park. woohooooo. so we haveeeee been so so so busy.

what do ya'll think about the Idol finale? I was shocked. I like them both...but assumed that Adam would win. wowza.

Hi all sweet scrappers. Hope all is going well. Things are swimming along smoothly. I can't wait for summer vacation. For many reasons. Getting to have my babies (who drive my bananas) home with me. I cannot believe next year I will have a kidlet in 3rd grade and one in kindy. Wahhhhhh. I am also looking forward to making our own schedule. The "have tos" are getting to me a bit. The idea of camping, swimming, trips to the library, zoo and Marine World, bowling (the bowling alley gave all kiddos k-8 at our school a pass for one free game plus free shoe rental EVERY day of summer break. Sure wish Hayden got one though. That would be nice to take them to a lot.), bbqs, some fun homeschooling projects, etc etc. ahhhhhh. just a while longer.
Though I am not looking forward to the wildly crazy coming weeks. Birthday parties, hubby out of town, end of baseball plus two end of season parties, three end of year school parties (yes.....chase's school is having two), hayden's graduation, getting the person taking my place on the preschool's board up to speed, three upcoming Mom night outs (oh poor me lol), helping get my aunt's retirement party set up, etc etc etc. ahhhhh. fun fun fun.

I haven't been to the gym for almost two weeks!?!?! I was busy for a few days and then I got what I think was the flu. I am still not all the way recovered from that. I really can't wait to get back into the gym though. I was seeing real progress (almost 10 lbs lost and inches off everywhere) and it sure put me in a better mood. My patience was a lot better too ;) so. yeah. hopefully next week I will be able to go back at it!

So. That is that.

well hi and howdy scrappers!!

did you all have a fabo weekend? get anything good? win any goodies??

I had a good time cruising around.

baseball games got rained out (I know right? Wasn't it just 98 degrees here a few weeks ago? CRAZY).

Last night we had two of my daughters and their fellas over for a bbq. fun fun.

Got big plans for mommy's day. my mom got us season passes to Marine World. So we are going that day!! yayay. Usually mother's day is spent doing something for his mom and/or mine. Really my first doing something IIIII want to do ;). My mom and aunt are coming with. Friday will be a Mommy's Day Lunch at Preschool! yummmm. Saturday we are going up to his mom's house after two bball games. So busy busy.

So...I keep thinking "I really need to start blogging again." But it is one of those things...you let it go for a bit and there doesn't seem like a good time to start again. Well....what better time than NSD for it, eh?

So...what is going on here. Dh is now working for a good company. It is hard for us not all being together all the time (he was working from home), but hey...we are just glad to be working during these times.

Boys are great and growing. Baseball season is well on us. fun fun. School is in the last months. Hayden will start Kindy in late August :(

I am embarking on a new health routine. It is going great.

lost almost 10lbs so far...lots of inches. working out like crazy!

Still designing at FPD w/my homechicks. love them. Also starting to write a monthly spot for DigiScrapAddicts newsletter. they are so fun there.

Nothing else too terribly exciting.

What are your plans this weekend? I am going to actually get to relax and scrap and hit some chats! woohoooo! (fpd has some awesome challenges going on this weekend ;) )

So.

I'm hours away from being 40!!!!!!!!!!!!

When did that happen?

sighhhhhhhhhhhhh. It is ok. I am okkkk! lol. No...really...I am. It doesn't bother me too much. I just realize I need to start taking better care of myself. But the age thing doesn't bother me.

so. we are finally feeling all healthy...shhhhh.

We are getting ready for bed....the boys and I have been playing like crazy today!

But I wanted to tell you about my new goodies. My sale. And a new freebie!

Man. I won't even go into how sick I have been,lol. I am done whining about it. But I am done. I want to be on a beach with bf's, books, beer and boiled shrimp!

But it has messed with my life too.

I fell off my pj 365 wagon because of it! wahhhh. Due to my praying in front of the porcelain God. No way to take pics of anything anyone would want to see. lol

I haven't gotten to scrap much. Or get anything new in the store. But that is ok. I will still keep truckin!

hi friends. what did ya'll do today? It was so beautiful here....we (Hayden and Tobee and I) met my momma at the zoo! It was soooo fun. We had a great time...the best part was we got there when the animals were getting fed and the were all awake and alert and active. SOOOO cool! Will share some pics tomorrow!!

Then did some more cleaning, cooking and scrapping! Woohooooo

good monday morning!!! hope you are all well and happy! today is starting off pretty nice. got up early, everybody ready, grandson here playing playdough with hayden...getting ready to go to preschool and a meeting with the director of said school.

yesterday was awesome. the boys and I tackled some yard work...so cool that they are old enough to help now! then I cleaned the floors, kitchen, dusted and did the bathrooms. then cleaned the garage and vacuumed my car. phew. then made the most awesome dinner. seriously. if I say so. Brandon went crabbing Saturday with some guys one our street...drove down to san fran...under the GG bridge. how cool would that be...lucky ducks. Brought momma home some yumminess. he steamed it and cracked it all out for me. I then chopped up some onion and baby red/orange peppers. sauted them in olive oil with garlic. added some white wine,basil, oregeno, pepper and the crab.

had noodles boiling. took light jar alfredo sauce and added garlic, 1/3 c ff cream cheese and 1/4 c grated parm cheese.

then mixed it all up and served with fresh steamed brocolli and bread.

everyone lapped it up. ahhhhh.

dessert was yogurt with granola.

21. I can get obsessive. I will pick something up and want to do it and do it and do it...then bang. done. on to something else. this hobby is the one I have stuck with for the longest.

22. I don't like heights. ladders, ferris wheels, ski lifts....ackkkk I sweat thinking about them

23. I am terrified of flying. and my hubby wants to finish getting his small plane license. yeah. have fun with that buddy lol.

24. I am way overprotective of my kids. I don't like anyone to take them anywhere. I don't like other people driving them. I even get weird when it is my hubby. It so freaks me out.

25. I have a very addictive personality. I know I eat, shop (well when I had money,lol), drink etc for reasons I should probably get in counseling and figure out.

good morning. Just a quickie this morning....then off to take some pics, take a shower, and get ready for my babies to come home. Holy moly I miss them. I Give. I Give. I GIVEEEEEEEEEEEe. Seriously folks. I tend to be a tad on the dramatic side. Prone to silly over exaggerations. But. Nope. Not this time. I have been WAY sick for almost a full week. I mean sicker than I remember being in forever. And it keeps getting worse instead of better.

I had a weird feeling yesterday feeling...but just thought it was part of the over congested feeling I have...that NOTHING is helping.

And woke up not long after falling asleep...with my eyes glued shut. You guessed it. PINK EYE! In BOTH eyes. BAD. WTH! This is so not cool. I have only had it once before...and this time is like Four times worse. And I am not going in cause the research I did says that since it is probably tied into the virus I have....the meds wouldn't work. Says that it only works on the bacterial kind of P.E....not viral. And I don't have the money to go to urgent care for shits and giggles...I have to make sureeee I really need to go. Which might me soon if I keep coughing up a lung.

So. whine and cheese.....bring the crackers.

My momma did whisk the boys away for hte weekend to let me rest...man I hope they don't have it lurking in their little bodies....and spreading to my aunt and mom.

I am getting some scrapping done! I am so stoked about that. And some new templates in the store.

And some feet up in front of the fire, hubby checking on me from a far every once in awhile (funny side note here...he is normally the kind who kisses on me and the boys even if we are sick...the kind of I aint skeered kind of man....the I don't get sick bring it on man....but he is so keeping his distance. Blowing me kisses...wrapping his hands in saran wrap before he rubs my back. j/k. I brought it to his attention. His eyes got big and said...babe...this one scares the crap out of me. You have never been this sick. bwahhahaha). Watching some mindless tv.

Haven't started my health plans really...except drinking the water...but hey. can't work out darn it. and chocolate makes me feel better.

Kapowwwwwwwwww! Here I am 2009. Coughing wheezing and shuffling...but DAMN it all. I am here. I made it through. Hubby and I high-fived and kissed at midnight. It was one battered end to my year....those last few months. We still are not sure what will happen...if we will have a job...if we can stay here...if we will have to relocate...but I feel positive.

Something about the first time you open your eyes on that first day of a new year. You somehow can't help but have hope. That you can forget or at least learn from all that went wrong the year before. That this year will be a GREAT year...maybe even THE year. That this is the year you will finally make and keep a resolution. And you can revel in all the pure silky goodness of the previous years' triumphs, snuggles, get togethers w/friends, snow angels, feeling so good it hurts, pool splash fights, mud on noses, best cookies ever, candlelight, rain rain rain, stretching cats, hugs from hubby/parent/friend/kid, great books, uncontrolled giggling, doors held open (literally and figuratively), chocolate,fave lotions, Christmas lights, child's singing, eyelashes against cheeks, sunsets, brisk mornings, board game nights,sing a longs in the car, bubble mohawks, the ocean, swinging, fresh sheets, neck nuzzling, unexpected card, an ah-ha moment, hand made blankets, forgiveness, corny knock knock jokes, unconditional love, crying from happiness, lose pants, handpicked flowers, bursting pinatas, campfires, walking hand in hand, smiling strangers, ice cold diet soda...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I made a few "resolutions"...what the heck...something might catch ;)

health. lose weight (not a specific number...just get some off). exercise. some. each day. Get rid of some not so healthy habits.

Breathe. deeply. relax. focus. before I talk (criticize, gossip, give advice etc).

Laugh. More. Loudly. Like I used to. With family. With friends. at myself.

Learn. From mistakes. don't repeat. maybe take a class? read more than for my book club.

Cultivate. Friendships. A garden. My children. To plow, seed, grow, weed and reap all that life has to offer me.

yes. I am ready. Bring on 40 next month. I ain't skeered!

I am also joining in on the Project 365. Take a pic each day. Not doing a real theme. Just going with it.

Hi sweet scrappers! So good to be here with you. First of all...thank you to all of our Veteran's and soldiers! We are appreciative for all you have done!

We are home today...no school. Chase's boyscout Pack will be marching in the parade today!!! Yayyyyy! Though it is cold and overcast. yuckkkkk.

Life has been good....hanging with the family and enjoying lots of preschool time with Hayden. They are growing so fast.

wow.

october came and went like a dream or mist. I know it was there...I remember feeling and seeing it...but cannot quite get a grip on it. I was sooooo soooooo
busy. Between a TON of birthdays, family visiting, the boys school, cubscouts (which is getting a lot more involved) tons of homework for my poor second grader (;) ), watching my grandson etc etc. I cannot believe it is NOV. We say that half jokingly all the time...but I really mean it.

So. I am starting to get a little better at juggling it all...but will really be glad when the holidays are over. Not that I want to wish time away...it is too fleeting as it is and my boys are growing way too fast....but I would like to be less stressed and frantic. I am not one of those put together has it all under control mom's. I am one of the means well forgets a lot no make up on fall asleep with the kids mom. lol.

Chase turns seven this weekend. Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. We are doing just a family thing this weekend...the friends next. Now that the boys are all getting older...my tiny house is just NOT big enough to hold them all....especially when they are all hyped up and crazy. I looked into having it somewhere else...but they are all SOOOO expensive. Geesh. I just don't know what we are going to do yet. I wish my guys had summer birthdays instead of fall/winter. The park would be so welcome!

I have been loving working with the girls over at Funky Playground still. They are so sweet and loving. They really take good care of me.

I have been working on lots of element packs....but am going to be doing some more sketch templates...some brand new ones. yayayaya.

hi scrappers. hope all is going ok today! all is good here. a little warm still. a freak little 4 min rain. got myself a cuteeee new haircut.... sing with me...."If you think I'm sexxxyyyy...and you want my bodddyyyy...come on sugar let me knowwww". That is what I was singing as I strutted into my hubbie's office after my appointment. He just smiled, patted me and said he loved me, giggle. (will have to show you a pic soon.) Did some stuff at both boy's school, got some stuff from the boyscout store for my friend's son and for Chase...came home and tackled homework and dinner...got stuff ready for the consignment store and here I am!

I must make a commentary....skip if you want.

I am a stickler for Customer Service at stores, diners etc. It doesn't matter if you are happy, sad, cramping, fighting with your kids/hubby/cat etc. You fake it till you make it. You make the customer happy. You smile and are polite and do your best. It is your JOB for goodness sakes. You are lucky to have that job. And in today's age especially...you CAN be replaced.

Yesterday was hysterical. Hubby and I went out for the day. We went to lunch and had the WORST service in history. They were understaffed and making mistakes for everyone's orders. (ours was actually ok...but all three tables around us had mistakes. Took forever to be served. Then...we paid. waited for our change. and waited. and waited. got the gal on the way by. Ummmm. we are waiting for our change. chewing of gum...oh..yeah...and left. no sorry. or omy....be Rightttt back. Waiting. waiting waiting waiting. she comes by...slaps it on the table without looking at us and goes to the table by us. the look on my hubby's face was so funny I burst out lauging and said...uhhhh ok. she turned around. oh. sorry. I am just really busy. turn around again (after she had just been shooting the breeze with ppl she knew at another table for like 4mins before we snagged her). so we left. went to office max. walked around on my own searching for something...none of the ppl around bothered to stop talking to each other to ask if I needed help. finally I gave up and asked someone who SIGHED and turned around and just looked at me after I politely said..ummmm excuse me. I said....Well..I am looking for xyz. He said....over there....by that display. and turned around to his coworker. I shook my head. Then we went to another store. more of the same...won't bore you.

ALL three stops. Rude, bored and unhelpful staff. WTH is going on?! I was amazed. And where are their bosses? In today's tough times...you really need to make the customer feel like they are spending their dwindling cash in a place that is worth it.

ok. phew. doneeeee! just crazy i tell you. If IIIIIII were queen....things would be different. lol

So....if you ever have a problem with anything you ever get from me. Please let me know. I WILL make it better. With a smile. And a thank you for shopping with me! I think that is why I give a way so many freebies....(ppl have asked me why I do). Because I know times are tight. I know ppl could shop elsewhere. I know that we are all in hte same boat. And I like to make ppl happy. So...those things all combine in sharing the love.

hi kids! so sorry I couldn't post my freebie yesterday...turned crazy! but we had funnnnnnn at the carnival! I was there at 1p to help set up. It was so CRAZY hot. my goodness I could NOT stand it. I am such a wimp when it comes to heat. and we had the cotton candy stand. what a flippin mess. I don't know why we have it. it made a huge mess...flying all over hte place (they didn't give us hoods for the machines) and it was melting. yikes. but then I got to walk around with the boys and actually see them have fun. and I ate yummmmmmmmy Indian Food that Chase's teacher and some ppl she knew made. OMG it was seriously yummy. And she is just the sweetest. So nice and calm and in control. As soon as I get around her...I feel my blood pressure lower. Something about her spirit. I so need to just follow her around. And I got to chitchat very briefly with Mrs O...our teacher last year. I love her. Chase has been so lucky in teachers....or should I say WE have been lucky.

The boys didn't seem to mind the heat. Played tons of games and ran with their friends. I chitchatted with ppl. My mom, aunt, Bran's sister and my dad all came. How cool is that? We seriously have such a supportive family. I count my blessings daily. Thank you for my life....it might be stressful. Things might be tight. I might have problems. But man. I have the greatest friends and family and the boys are SUCH HAPPY little people.

Today I am resting and going through boxes of clothes for all of us. What to get rid of what to keep.

tomorrow is BIG TIME CLEANING. Tops of those shelve like things around a lot of the tops of my walls. dust collectors I tell you. windows. cabinets. scrub the grout. Scrub the bathrooms. Bleach tub toys. Clean doors, knobs etc. I don't really do a spring cleaning. I do fall cleaning. I hate the idea of closing up for the winter with out a huge cleaning.

Hitting the pumpkin patch for it's first weekend open. seeing friends. playing puzzles and board games. I am healing nicely....I go in for my follow up on Thursday. I am feeling so much more relieved having this done. I feel a ton lighter.

Chase's carnival is Friday, so we are excited about that.

Not much is going on other than that. I am a little overwhelmed with homeword for a second grader...lordy that is a lot after a day in school. but we are working through it.

thanks so much for all the well wishes! But I have to tell ya....I wasn't clear....my surgery/biopsies are tomorrow....oops. but man...with all these ppl thinking of me....I am sure to be just fine!!!

someone asked me what exactly they are doing.

I am going in for actual outpatient surgery (not the one in the office that they just give you a big old helping of local). He will then look at both lumps. If they look "ok" to him...he will take a good chunk of both and sew me back up. If they look strange...he will take more and a bit of surrounding tissue. then they go to pathology. They said there is a slight chance I will have to stay overnight depending on how much they have to do and if they have to put in a drain. Also...last time I had a minor surgery....I was REALLY sickkkk from the knock em out juice.

but. It will all be ok. How could it not with so much lovin from you guys.

One thing I really love about the commuity of scrapping. we band together. we worry and pray for each other. when someone needs help...they jump right on it! There are the bad seeds that so many ppl want to dwell on. But by golly. I want do revel in the goodness I see everyday among you girls.

the ppl who put together charity kits for a family who lost their mom/wife. the gift package someone sent a lady who was sad. the messages of hope and kindness I get any time I feel blue.

Man. I wish I could fill the world with ppl like you!

so....enough about that! yuck!

I have been busy with the boys. getting stuff going at the preschool...trying to get chase's homework done before he goes to his free golf lessons (his poppa teaches golf..my dad....so he gets free lessons. but this is through a golf academy here in town...they give a week of free lessons every month from may-october!) how cool is that I ask you. but bad part. Chase is whooped! and wants nothing to do with homework. Think this is the last time we do something that is everyday for a week. too much for an almost 7 year old.

Funky Playground designs announced their new designers!!! We have some awesome new girls. They are all so sweet and such a great addition to the store. And we relaunched with a new look too! being able to wear long sleeves and pants and not be hot (I am ALWAYS hot)

which leads to the windows open and airing out the house

walking in the neighborhood

bike rides

sat mornings on the front porch with breakfast

I could just go on and on,lol. I love it. not quite here yet...but so close I can feel it's presence haunting my mind

school is in full swing for both boys....hayden is in preschool...last year of it. he still misses his old school, but likes jack and jill. he also goes to speach once a week. great people there.

chase's teacher is great....his schoolmates are fabulous and I just could not be happier there right now.

I serve on the board of Jack and jill and the board of the parent's club for chase's school. I NEED to be involved....I believe that if you want something done right...make sure you're involved,lol.

we are in full planning mode of Barry's Carnival. It will be so awesome this year! YAY!

On the negative note...I have been dealing with a health issue...breast lumps. I wasn't going to talk about it here...but so important to check yourself.

they say the very last day of your cycle....first with no signs of blood...tmi but important to know....check yourself. don't do it too many times...you will grow too accustomed to your lumps and not notice if they grow sometimes.

so. I have two. a tad abnormal. we had the mammogram and ultrasounds. going in for surgery on friday to see what they are. I am feeling positive that all is ok. this is just my wake up call to live better. eat better....more veggies and cancer fighting goods. less soda. less stress. drink only ever oh often. excersise more. spend more time with familiy.

so

check yourself. don't wait for them to find them. and I am large chested (very) and still found them.....so it can be done.

so I have been dealing with this crap for a few weeks and it is all consuming.

but I am feeling ok with it.

we went camping for our end of summer trip. my mom and aunt. my oldest daughter and boyfriend. brans dad and uncle. the ocean. oh how I love thee. let me count hte ways. Saturday was THE best day I have EVER had at Fort Bragg CA beach. WOW. all I can say. Thank you God!

I am trying to tap into my creative side...made a few new goodies you will be seeing next week.

today I released a little element template pack for bdays. Chase is turning 7 in November...so I am a little preoccupied. They are good for CU with no extra license needed. You get tiff, psd and individual png files. and you get a candy bar wrapper template included...I love those (perfect for hershey bars).

I am almost done w/time traveler's wife. read keeping faith, memory keepers daughter, mermaid chair, autumn leaves, eat love pray, kite runner and a thousand splendid suns for book club. I like mysteries and the likes of deen koontz, kellerman, sandra brown etc. I like it all in books too! so tell me. I haven't gotten into the twilight books yet.

I am so happy...I purged more clutter from my house today! woohoooo

bday party for nephew last night. good times. bad food. sighhhh. I gained a pound back this week. Back to being more watchful. And need to get that exercise in.

I am going to scrap a bit today. yayayay! I miss scrapping. too much business stuff and house stuff.

another quickie today. going to speed clean after the boy goes to school. I am taking little grandson and my youngest son to the water park today to play.

hi scrappers. how is everyone in digiland? all is ok here. playing, dr's appts, hanging with my aunt yesterday, still trying to juggle life and love and the pursuit of happiness.

I am feeling a little under the weather....but hope it is just being tired mixed with allergies. no time to be sick.

I have some of the best IRL friends. I have had some stuff going on here and they put together a little goodie bag and dropped it off yesterday! It had a notepad for journaling, a scented eye mask, candy, coffee card, trail mix, diet coke, candle, bath and body lotion and the sweetest card. Man. I am a blessed girl. I don't know what I did to deserve such a wonderful family, great friends (irl and digiland) and full cupboards...but I am so grateful.

My sweet little four year old starts preschool on Wednesday...sniff sniff....his last year before kindy. wahhhhhh.

I am feeling the need to sign up for a painting class and a jewelery making class....like I don't have enough to do,lol. now to just find one that I can afford and fit into my schedule.

so....lots of fun stuff in the works at FPD...can't spill yet...but those girls are rockin some surprises!

I just released another toolbox...journaling templates. $1 until Sunday! Commercial Use okie dokie by me! and they are layered...so you can use them for elements, for journaling...with just the outlines or with the paper shapers....so it's like a double pack of goodies!

Happpyyyyy Sunday.

We are having a cool morning full of sun and the voices of little handsome boys playing. Daddy is home this morning and I was informed by the three of them...we are having a Star Wars day. They are building ships from leggos and tinker toys etc. They are cooking at this moment...eggs, biscuits, sausage, gravy and fruit. Poor momma on her diet....just keep swimming just keep swimming. I must chant...I have lost 13 pounds I have lost 13 pounds. arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Yesterday was fun. The boys and I went to a birthday party for one of Chase's school friends. I have known them and a few other families since Chase started kindy....he is now in second. They all get along and I like the parents. They have a big yard and had this set up inflatable slip and slide it is HUGE and has sprinklers raining down on them....they loved it! That and a trampoline, fort, squirt guns, toys, snacks, lunch, cake...phew. lots of fun!!! But boy did I get way too hot. I tried to stay in the shade...but phew. I actually feel a tad sick from it today.

And how bout a yummy easy inexpensive recipe??

first. dice up some onions. saute with garlic and olive oil. throw in a crock pot. add low sodium tomatoe condensed soup. low sodium cream of mushroom soup. pepper, oregano, any other seasoning you like. stir up. Throw in london broil. cook on low for 8-10 hrs of high for 4-5hrs. I added carrots and potatoes 40mins before done. Makes it's own gravy and meat was soft. The boys ate it upppp!

Easy dessert.

butter pats on bottom of cake pan. sprinkle generous amount of brown sugar. followed by some marachino cherries cut in half. Then crushed drained pineapple. Then pour on yellow cake mix made to directions on box.

yummmmm.

Hi all. Quickie today. Boys are good....Chase loves his class and Hayden is missing him like crazy (as does mommy).

I am still purging stuff from the house. It has heated back up here. uckkk.

some things you can make with it.

-you can take a bunch of old CD's...print out finished layout and adhere to the cds. Then drill holes in and use ribbons or jump rings to hold together for a great album.

- or you can make a wall hanging like this one. (made this last year using traci simm templates and kit by eva kipler)

-or you can put on a regular sized layout and add some things or journaling.

Happy Friday all! woohoooo! The weather is fine and I am tickled. I was supposed to come and tell you a secret today...but now have to wait till Monday! but Monday for sure, kay!

I have to be pretty brief today...I spent the night at DSD's and watched Tobee with my two assistant baby sitters. boy am I glad I didn't go for that third baby right now. lol. Tobee is almost two (and my boys are 6 and 4). Last night was a free for all. My ears are still ringing. I love that little guy...especially when he calls me grandma and says he loves me and cuddles me (after he smacks me with a football,lol)...but I am TIRED! Best part of waking up.....is diet pepsi in my cup!

So...in a bit I have to go back and pick him up...head to sam's club with the three of htem and pick up all the food for tonights BBQ party to celebrate youngest SD's graduation. Then go set up. Then back to his house.

Happy Saturday chickie poos! How is the weekend going so far? Hopefully wonderful. It isn't TOOOOO hot right now....I have been trying to get some projects done and catching up on a few tivo shows while the boys are swimming. They are turning into quite the water lovers/swimmers! I am soooo proud.

We took sissy kristen (my youngest stepdaughter), Tobee (my grandson) and my Mom to the Water Park the other day. It was a blast. No pics...but just a lot of fun!

I am recommitted to my diet...I am doing realllly awesome if I do say so! Some of you might remember I bought a couple month's worth of Nutri system a while ago. And never really got going to far. I had a lot of things going on and didn't want to just eat it here and there...so decided to wait until I was committed. And I have been. For almost two weeks. and I have cut out alcohol. and it is coming off! boy am I learning that my portions were WAY too big. sighhhhh. The good thing about eating prepackaged (except for my produce and yogurt). But you can do the same thing with a lot of the new frozen dinners out there. Just really pay attention to your fat and calories. drink water and water and water. lotsss of veggies. I am determined to not turn 40 fat. ackkkkk!! I have until Feb 16th to lose 40lbs. 7months. so that would be like 5.5 lbs a month. I can do that...I hopeeee!

I have had some touching moments with the boys. I am making a point of really doing fun things with them and just sitting around talking and doing legos and tinker toys. I can tell they are really enjoying it. They have been even more affectionate than usual. I sometimes get caught up in life and house and homework (yes...I make them do weekly lessons during the summer) and computer and family and friends etc...and I forget to spend enough time just playing with them. so fun

and...you all know I am the Mayor of Enable-me-why-don't-you City. So....look at all the great deals I have seen.

first....let me start off with a note of advice. NEVER say...I have more time now and am going to start all over and be a better blogger. It will jinx you. seriously. I had every intention of being and doing better....and that darn thing called life got in the way again! giggle bowing head blushing. on that note. I am just going to try. I have a more realistic goal of at LEAST two times a week...then if I do more I will be so proud of myself! doesn't that sound kinder to myself? why am I harder on myself than I would be a friend? or a complete stranger? hmmmmm. something to think about and go on about another day.

Second. This is a tad on the long and boring side. So...if you are not family or a close friend...you are not obligated to read any further. you are excused to scroll down to the bottom and grab the freebie ;). Ok. If you are reading still...you have to or are like me....love to read about other's lives. I missss reading all my blogs. I am going to have to seriously catch up.

What have we been up to? Well....the last week has been spent at Gauche Aquatic park. just opened this year. huge park, bbq area etc. inside is lap pools, diving, water slide and HUGE small kiddo area. we love it there. The boys are taking lessons there and we like to stay for free swim. I even go down the big slide.

We also went on vacationnnn! yayayya. first in a long time (not counting our weekend camping here and there)

We boarded a plane to Oregon (found flights that made it cheap enough to avoid the 11 hour drive and gas money for my hog. Ate at the BEST breaksfast place in Portland...Elmers. woahhhh momma. Seriously. daaaummmm. good stuff I tell ya! Next stop...drive an hour and hit Cosco...loaded up for the week. Then we drove to our place in Seaside. Cute little place. unloaded. put away. changed and hit the beach. we weren't sure how the weather would hold so grab it while you can. We decided to spend the day there...SIL and nephew weren't due in till that night. funnnnn. my feet were happy. they miss the ocean when away. the boys do as well.

my poor foot. impaled two weeks prior. and the other foot looked worse...I had dropped a HUGE bottle on it...lid first. swollen and purple. ouuuwwww.

Then we just hung out for a couple days. beach. shopping. arcade. reading. talking. playing pass the pigs...HEAVEN.

dissapointment hit. it was horrible weather on the fourth. drizzly, windy....then plum dang rained on us watching the parade. and then got reallly windy on the beach. I was almost crying. for two years I have been jonesing to go back. I missed the fireworks then. hayden was little and a messss...they don't start till 10pm. I got to hear the music, roast the dogs, watch the ppl...but not fireworks. Now it looked like I would miss it all! wahhhh.

but....at 9pm...bran and daniel said it was better. so we got everyone bundled up and stood on the board walk. TONS and TONS of ppl. Everyone seetting off fireworks on the beach. awesome sight. Music. Food. I was giddy. Seriously. Giggling, running, laughing. It was sizzling with excitement in the air. Then they did a tribute to our country. to our troops. and played the national anthem with the most amazing rockets going off. I cried and thought of those we have lost. for my friend diane who lost her gorgeous young brave son. I felt so.....grateful. to be here. to have freedom. to have a wonderful life. The whole show rocked. They had a few technical probs...scared the wits out of me seeing the guys get so close to lighting them. I was in Heaven again.

The next day we packed up, said our goodbyes to Bec and Daniel and hit the road. Up to Washington to see Bran's good friends Don and Karen...pictured here with their fur babies Trace (6 month old Mastiff) and Wrigley (slightly older brother).

Bran used to date her friend eons ago. became friends with her and then bf Don. Don and Bran were even roommates at one point. They have remained friends to this day. And they are soooo nice. and make you feel like you have known them forever. Opened their home, spoiled the boys rotttttennn...just good people. They live in a place that is surrounded by acres of trees. you feel like you are the only ppl there. we roasted smores, cooked, ate, drank laughed, went to the beach...we were blessed with AWESOME weather while there. loved my time there...want to go back. Two days not long enough.

then off further into Washington to see Bran's cousin, hubby and kids. He has been working on the guest home they have been building. My first time to see it. OMG. They are soooo lucky I tell you. Well not lucky. Very hard working ppl. but sigh...I think I need to live there.

OMGGGGG. top of the line everything folks. walk into family room. up to kitchen eating and I think office and master bed. then up to kids loft. In love I say. They are going to live there for 2yrs while they rebuild main house. literally having someone lift up old house. boat it across the water and put it down on someone else's lot. Their new home will look the same outside...same materials. and the plans are jaw dropping. Do they need a nanny ya think? their kids (three gorgeous girls) are growing up so wonderful. hats of to Lisa. mannered, sweet as pie, helpful...funny. I loved them. I wanna goo backkkkkk.

we then took the ferry over to seattle and spent the day. we hit up the Pacific Science Center...woweeee. so freaking coooool! we saw dinos, insects, did experiments, played tic tac toe with a giant robot and saw an Imax movie. The boys loveeed it. A couple silly pics from that.

then dinner and early bed. we were pooped. I did hurt my foot again. the one with the puncture. I was trying to get into the hotel...they had a card key to enter from outside. door was stuck so I pulled realllly hard. felt it scrape my foot and it hurt...I said a choice word....but kept going as my arms were full. Got into elevator and looked down. blood everyyyywhere. seriously. filling my shoe kind of bleeding. I get to room and am ready to go down...I don't do that much blood well. Bran turns white and husles me to tup. Big cut. no stitches required...hurts like heck. With my severe anemia and me taking motrin for my cramps...my blood was REALLY thin (I have to warn nurses/doctors of it usually). now....fast forward a week and a half. still cannot wear anything but thongs (shoes). it still really hurts. sniff sniff.

flight home uneventful...but sure hated coming home to the smoke filled air that was 110 degrees for goodness sakes. (though now the fires better. air is semi-clean. cooling trend going on right now)

my beautiful daughters (to clear it up...ppl ask me...how do you have daughters this age? They are Bran's daughters from a previous marriage....but I love them to pieces and can't imagine being without them...wish they were around all the time. Though...technically....they are 23, 21 and almost 18....I am 39...so it IS possible ;) )

Brea got him some new speedos. it was more a gift for all of US though. He wears them under his scuba suit when he dives. his old ones were SEE THROUGH in the back ppl. Argghhhhh. ackkkkk. lol. Back off ladies...he is all mine ;)

she also got him a giant snicker's bar. tobee REALLY wanted it. so bran gave him a bite. it turned into a battle. really. he kept trying to get it from tobee. and the wrestled.

I am officially starting this blog over today,lol. It has been so long since I have posted. I am not sure why. I think several things contributed....we have been extremely busy. Both boys in t ball. Lots of school commitments for them both. Had to plan the end of year party for t ball and for school. Worked a carnival. yayayayaydadada. Won't really bore you with it all.

But...I am back.

First and foremost...happy birthday daddy! Today is his birthday and the day he adopted me....(he was my stepdad before that). I love you hairball (we have these sweet little pet names for each other,lol)

well...spring sprung...and retreated. This weekend has been on and off clouds, chilly weather, bone chilling breezes and sprinkles! brrrrr. I actually like it, but it has not been hitting the boy's happy spot. They are NOT amused.

Chase had opening day for tball...they were so stinking cute! love them. I also like being team mom. It is my first time doing the mom thing with sports...it is usually just for sports. It is so good to be able to have control,lol. I picked up the uniforms and distributed them...we got them the evening before opening day. talk about waiting for the last minute. got everyone to pictures and with their forms filled out.I have the scheduling for snack bar coverage almost all finished and the raffle tickets ready for passing out. I helped make 30 paper hats (and cut out hte paper for 30 more). We are having an Easter bonnet parade and egg hunt on Thursday). Got them sent home to each child with instructions on how to decorate with their family. We are having green milk and rice crispy treats at school tomorrow for St Pattie's day. I also have to cut out the makings for a foam pieced together bunny rabbit head to put on the buckets our teacher bought for the egg hunt. PHEW.

The bad news is I failed horribly on the healthy lifestyle front this week. I was doing SOOOO good for a little while...felt and looked better. Then I got that horrible cold so the work outs stopped...then the eating followed. sighhh. Starting again tomorrow. Back on the horse. I will DO IT darn it. I miss having someone to go for walks with..hauling the kiddos. OR to go to the gym with. I only have one friend into working out and she likes to go in the evenings. To me, that won't work. Evenings are for homework, baths, art, sports and dinner...family time. So...I have ot do it on my own. sniff sniff.

Now...I have some awesome enabling to do! Get ready for some drooling!

Friday Friday! wooohooooo! life is good! I get to have a sleepover with my sweet little grandson, Tobee. The boys are so excited. We don't have many other plans...just enjoy
the sun we are supposed to have.

Happy Tuesday! Hope you are all well and happy! woohooooo! So...we went to the beach over the weekend. I was not really looking forward to it, but it ended up being just what the doctor ordered. Cleared my head mentally and physically. I went on two pretty good hikes...made my thighs and calves scream! It has put me on the road to my healthy new me! I have toyed with losing weight and exercising for quite awhile but have NOT done a great job. But I am determined darn it!

Then I sat in a courtroom ALL day yesterday...Jury duty. I never got questioned...but it was a LONG boring day listening to the same questions over and over and over,lol. I really want to sit on one day...always has interested me.

I will be spending the next few days cutting 60 two yard pieces of colored butcher paper and rolling them up. The three first grade classes will be making Easter hats for our parade at school.

Is it spring yet? Please? I am so sick of being sick. I got the tummy bug. BAD. The boys so far don't have it. I have been dealing with the loss of my stash of fun on my EHD. I am pretty sure going to go with Mozy. I have almost recaptured most things I bought. I lost a few layouts and some goodies I have created. sigh. But NO pics. phewwww.

I celebrated birthdays (mine and Hayden's)...pics to come soon.

Hayden had his four year old check up. All ok...except...get this...higher than normal Lead levels. Almost at level 6....they put on special meds and really worry at 10. Not enough to panic....but enough to say what the heck!! She said we DEF need to figure what is causing it and get away from it or problems WILL happen. I checked the recall lists...we don't have ANY of those toys. But...I am wanting to throw every toy we have away. Chase and I go in for testing next week. She said it could explain his anemia and headaches. If anyone has advice I would love it. We live in a 10 yr old home in California. No lead paint. We don't work around lead. We don't know anyone who does/has either. So I am stumped.

The best laid often go awry! It seems like every time I make a plan to get organized, blog more, get more done...something happens. This time it was the cootie bugs! Chase got sick on Sunday night...lasttttt Sunday. And boy did he get sick. Started as a cold, went into bronchitis, then he was throwing up mucus and crying that his cheek and jaw hurt. went to dr and he had sinus and ear infection. he is finallllyyyy feeling better though still choked up. Bran and Hayden have been sick for days now...and now I am getting it. holy moly! this is crazy!

But annnywaayyyys. Not going to go all wahhhh wahhhh poor me tooooo much ;)

I am thrilled that so many of you liked the card and envelope template! Yayayya. Lots of great comments left here and on 4shared. It makes me smile. I have no freebie today...will try to have one again tomorrow.

So...the boys were both home sick with me yesterday. I love them lots...but what ever normal whining happens on a regular basis...when sick is amplified by like 80. And that is just MY Whining...not theirs, heheheheh.

We made a target run late morning for kleenex and cold meds and new shoes for the ever growing boys. When did kid's shoes get so expensive for crying out loud. I looked like crap warmed over and served on a soggy english muffin...so of course I saw two people I knew who talked to me. SIGH. Note to self...but make up on no matter how you feel!

Got a number to get Hayden assessed for his speech....called and left a message.

Finished folding load 87 or so of laundry.

Went to Michaels to see if they had the Cricut tags bags boxes and more cartridge since they are half off. Nope. That thing is hard to find dang it.

Now we are going to veg out for a bit. Puzzles and books. I wish Brandon wasn't gone this week...I don't feel like moving!

I used salvaged papers and alpha by Rachel Young (black and red paper black alpha) from funkyplayground designs and the Blossom and Shine collab kit that was made for the members of My Scrapbook Art. Love the kit and those sweet designers!

What are you looking forward to the most in 2008?
I usually don't think about it too much...but I would like to think of it as a new beginning for my health, my attitude and my marriage.

Losing 45lbs and trying to clean up my bad habits. I know me and I know it will be hard.

What do you hope to learn this year?
I would like to RE-learn a lot of stuff I learned in school. the science, history math stuff. The stuff that my kids will want me to know one day and that seem to have disappeared from my brain.

Girls weekend away in March. Also a family vacation but its not planned yet.

every birthday and anniversary is important to me...you never know when it will be your last. Brandon and I will be married for 7 years in April. I am having a bday in Feb...not a "milestone" bday, but still. I want to celebrate. I haven't really celebrated my birthday since I have had kids. Especially since Hayden's is the day after mine.

What would be your dream event of 2008?
Me getting off all my prescritions and weekly shot

Do you plan to see or contact any old friends/family members this year?
I would like to. I let go of some really good friendships over the last couple of years. Do to my depression and stress. I would like to contact them and let them know I still care and love them.

To not celebrate life and enjoy what I have.

hi there scrap happy people. I am actually blogging again. I am trying to do it more. So....we survived yesterday. It was so crazy here. 60+mph winds, downed trees everywhere, plants, fences and even an airplane were tossed around...yup an airplane. a small sessna that wasn't tied down right. picked up and thrown over a fence into a ditch. We kept our power though lots and lots lost theirs. My inlaws lost their skylight...the roofers obviously didn't screw it on....they only found one screw hole. Geesh. We played tons and tons of games...the boys and I. Pass the pigs, monopoly jr, sequence for kids and uno. We also did lots of paper crafting. I had to keep Hayden's mind of the storm. The lights flickering on and off really started to freak him out a bit. The cats were NOT amused by the whole thing. AT ALLLLLL.

But...all is ok if messy. It slowed down last night and didn't start to storm again till a couple hours ago. Now another break.

here are just a couple pics.

We have this HUGE redwood in our front yard...yeah...I know...a beautiful tree...but way too big for a residential area. anyhoooos. it was spit up at the top...growing two different ways. Well...one hugeeeee part (thing length of my car or more) slammed down with lots of little branches thrown up to 20ft.

oh well...nothing too bad. the worst is the fence that we now have to redo with the neighbors...the posts are shot. sighh.

Carin wanted to see some xmas gifts that I made...I can show a bit...my other camera card is at my aunt's. ackkkk. I will get it back soon I hope. all my xmas pics are pretty much on there.

here is the front of the gift bags for their teachers.

some goodies we made to put in bags for the office staff, cafeteria gals, janitors, crossing guard, other fave teachers and people at school. the pretzels were inspired by Ms. Gina Miller

what the appreciation bag toppers say.

Then I made this paper bag album...it was so fun and easy and looks so great in person.

you take lunch bags. then you stack them horizontally on top of each other...but you swith what side the ends are on each time. so you alternate the opening being on the right, then the left and so on.

then you mark where you want your holes to go, then punch them. (some people like to sew the spine, but my machine would NOT do it no matter how I begged it. sigh)

I then tied the first ribbons to just hold it together.

I used my double sided scrap tape to adhere my layouts on...I made them smaller to kind of frame them a bit. Next time I will ink and glitter the edges I think.

I took cardstock and cut it to fit into the open end pockets and attached ribbons to the first few. then I taped some layouts and journaling on them and put them in.

next I attached my front ribbons and ricrac. Sewed on a button. Threaded embroidery thread through the back to make the tie.

Walllah! They loved it!

hi all. this is going to be a short one....we are having a NASTY storm here! But I wanted to share a great find today!

my buddy Kim Hill's store--CGEssentials--is Three!!!!! Happy birthday! wooohoooooo! and she is having a heck of a sale!!! yayayayay again!

Here is her newest kit, Memory Lane, which I just love. Great colors, wonderful elements and it is so versatile. Heritage, family, baby, boy...all pics will be set off to perfection with it.

Happy last day of 2007!!!!!

Today dawned clear and sunny and beautiful! Much welcomed relief from the dreary weather we have had here in Northern California!

Christmas here was wonderful! We celebrated up a storm....I actually really got into it at last. I was not feeling the Magic....still missing my Gran and letting the stress of life get to me. But Bran came home from his jobs and started to decorate for me! What a shocker! I don't think he has ever done that IN the house. So I finally got my groove back YAY!

The boys loved all their gifts from us and all the family...they got transformers, dragons, playdough, a game table, clothes, pirate ships, books, art suplies...man they are spoiled little turkies, lol. But...the thing they played with the most...was this bouncy foam like stuff from their sister! Totally cracks me up.

I got some nice bath gel and lotion from the boys and an EHD from dh.

My family loveeeeeeeeeeeeed all the stuff I made them. The calendars were a total hit as were the books! My aunt didn't really react much to the paper bag album...makes me wish I kept it for myself :( I don't expect them to do a huge ole happy dance..but she didn't even really look at it. oh well.

Which brings me to Shutterfly. There has been a lot of talk in the digi world regarding shutterfly and a lot of it hasn't been the best. But I personally love shutterfly. It has given me a chance to see my work in print. They have great prices, incredibly fast shipping, great customer service (I have had to contact them for mistakes they made and they are very apologetic and get me a fix and compensation quickly).

I would like to talk about some of the shutterfly goodies. (pictures to follow once I find my card reader :(( )

First....the printing of 12x12 and 8x8 layouts. Man....heaven is all I can say! I was so tickled to get it! It was so much better than seeing it in the books I have come to love! The colors were on the money and the textures showed up quite nicely! I framed one of the boys for their room and they are beyond tickled!!

I then tried out the calendars and they were so easy and fun to make. I loved the option to put on your own birtdays etc. No excuses for forgetting now :). Perfect cropping and colors again! I def recommend!!

Now come my trial of the photo cards. Easy to make, great colors and you can customize to your heart's content! I was one of the ones who got my order messed up on this...I received someone elses cards!!!! They told me that she actually got hers, but they printed them out again and sent them to me too. They had to resend them...and since it was late Thursday...they wouldn't go out till Friday...and they use UPS, so overnight meant that they didn't arrive until Monday. I was disappointed with that...but the actual cards were gorgeous!

Now...since I am a big user of Shutterfly...let me share some tips with you. If you are not familiar with their specs and site...it can be a bit confusing!

All I will be sharing with you now is geared toward the digital scrapbooker.

1.) the digital Scrapbooking solution area of the site. It is where I start off when creating something. If you click each one it will take you to a page where you can download the specs and templates for that product

2. Make sure you turn off Vivid Pics to ensure you get the right colors. To do this:
Select your album
select all
click enhance/fix pictures
then effects
check box on left that says "Don't apply automatic corrections to picture"
click link above this box that says "Apply this effect to other pictures"
select all
click Next
you should now see it say applying to all pictures

3. turn off the easy crop/zoom feature too. (you want it to say custom crop and free)

click pictures
select all
click enhance/fix pictures
then crop
you will see some circles starting with easy crop. look farther down and click custom
now click free

4. turn off your borders

click pictures
click all
click enhance/fix
click borders
no border
to the left of your preview you will see the option to apply this border to all pics

If you do all these tips and use their templates...you will be good to go and very happy. One thing I am careful about too....I like to place a lot of detail on my edges. I make sure when I place them in books to try to not put too much by the spine. If I have all layouts that are very detailed...I make it a bit smaller and allow for a tiny border...just to be safe.

I have also heard of people having their special deals disappear before the expiration date. I was assured that all you have to do is call them and they will fix it up for you. And if you received compensation for a mix up...like a percentage off or free shipping...and it expires before you use it. Just call them and they will put it back for you.

All in all...I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee me some shutterfly! So does my hubby...he just asked me to make each of his three daughters their own books from birth till now. He ASKED me,lol. Never thought I would see the day. Made me so happy! So...lots of scanning and creating to do!

Now...I haven't been able to create much in the goodie dept with Christmas and such. I do have two new products in the store.
Stitched basics. It includes one full stitch, one partial, one partial unraveling, one star and one flower in the following colors....white, cream, blue, orange, and pink. Then there are just the holes in a straight line, a star and a circle. And cause I love ya...I threw in a set of flowers and another set of stars...in lots of colors. Now $1.50

Then there is this set...made for some pages of my son on his motorbike.

hi sweeties. hope you are all good. I am fat and happy still,lol

I made this yummy dinner...it was so easy and quick and no one would stop eating!!

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds beef cube steak
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 tablespoon butter
minced garlic, pepper, salt, lipton onion soup mix
2 cubes beef bouillon, dissolved in 2 cup water
1 bag of frozen chopped potatoes
baby carrots (steamed till almost done)

DIRECTIONS
Cut cube steaks into pieces about 1/2 inch in size. put flour, pepper and salt in ziplock bag and shake. Add meat and shake shake shake. In a large skillet, heat oil and butter over medium high heat. Add garlic to oil in pan...wait a min. add meat and sprinkle with onion soup mix; saute till lightly browned. Add more butter if needed.
Stir in 1 1/2 c of the beef bouillon, potatoes,salt, and black pepper. Cover, turn heat down to simmer, and cook for 15 minutes. Add carrots and remainder of bullion. It will thicken as it cooks. Add more water if it gets too thick.

serve with salad.

this is also my most requested desert evaaaaaaaa!

INGREDIENTS
1 (15oz) can pumpkin puree
3 eggs
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
3tbsp pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 half package yellow and one half cocunut cake mix
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
1/2 cup melted butter

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan.
In a large bowl, combine pumpkin puree, eggs, brown sugar, white sugar and milk. Stir in spices. Pour into pan. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the pumpkin filling. Sprinkle walnuts over the cake mix. Drizzle melted butter over all.
Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned. Allow to cool.

Happy Saturday ya'll. Hope it is a good one for you. It is cold and dreery here today. Brrrrrrr. Brandon is Scuba Diving today. I am hanging with the buds. Waffles graced the breakfast table. Lots of building with tinker toys etc took place after. Now the boys are coloring some velvet color posters I bought them...man they love those things. And I love the dollar tree. Every time I go there I stock up.

Speaking of fun finds...I went to our Big Lots the other day. They had some great scrapbooking goodies. I got some flowers and ribbon reallllly cheap. And these adorable accordian albums...the 6x6 were 3.00 and the 4x4 were 2.00. This person is selling them on Ebay for 7.50 plus 5.50 shipping. Talk about profit,lol. I also picked up some itty bitty albums for 1.00. looks kind of like a matchbook album but larger.

I am also working on some altered goodies..but you have to wait to see, hehehehe.
Though I am having trouble with one. I want to sew some lunch bags...and my machine won't do it. I have seen others get it to work...but is no go for me. I have adjusted the tension, made the stitches bigger...just won't work. Any thoughts?

I worked even more at the school this week. copied my big ole hiney off. getting crafts ready for next weeks fun time. we have so many fun things...turkeys, hats, feathers oh my! I am done there for a bit, lol.

Hi cutie bugs! how is everyone and everything in scrapland??? I think someone is messing with me and changed the date of my last post! It has NOTTTTT been that long! No way. no wayyyyy. wowowowowo. I knew it was a while, but not that long.

All I can say is I have been dealing with life. Some good, some great and some bad. Been very busy with Chase's class. Working with Hayden. Worrying about my MIL.

I cannot POSSIBLY fill you in on all of it without going on and on all day and night, so will recap.

What I have learned since I have been gone.

1. The older I get, the less I like housework. Now...don't get me wrong...I never LOVED it. When I was single and had lots of time...I would be known to keep a really clean cute house. And actually spent time deep cleaning on a regular basis.
Now...yuck. So many other things I have to or would rather do. And now that I have 4 of us (sometimes 5 when my mom is here) to clean up after...it just plain STINKS! and having two little boys and one big boy...bathrooms are my all time WORST chore.
I am sick of laundry, laminate floors (which you constantly have to wash) and tile grout!

2. There are not enough hours in the day! Just not. By the time Chase gets home from school (we walk in the door about 3p) and he eats his snack and talks about his day with me...we have to do homework, cook dinner while they play (or go to sport practice or boyscouts), bath, talk/read bed. I MiSSSSSSSSSS my little guy! A lot! And there just isn't enough time for me to get everything done that I want to. I have this huge list of things I need to do, people I need to contact, etc. Siggghhhh. INstead of crossing things off with speed...I just keep adding more and more,lol.

3. Marriage is hard work. Especially when you are both tired, stressed, and dealing with the young ens. They take time and effort to make them good. You can easily fall into a rut. NOt take care of each other. Put it off.

4. I have a hard time saying no. I want to do it all. Be there for everyone. Make everyone happy. Be useful, liked and needed. But, once again...we fall back to number 2. I do NOT have enough hours. I must find a seminar that teaches me to say no and to limit myself to what I volunteer to do.

5. I need to take better care of myself. I StILL haven't gotten it together with the weightloss thing. I stopped Nutrisystem because I kept "cheating" and didn't want to waste the food, so it is still sitting there waiting for me to feel strong enough to do it. Man I am struggling there! How can a person who used to be so fit and work so hard at being healthy get to this point? I am 40+ overweight (would be "ok" if I lost 40). And I hate it. I miss feeling fit, energetic, good in my own skin. I am not sleeping good. I am embarrassed by how I look. You would think I would be quick to act on it. but noooooo. def psycholgical.

6. I will probably never stop my iron shots. they think I could need them the rest of my life. they still have no idea why my body can't make and/or absorb iron through my digestive system. I have gone through tons and tons of tests. bottom line...cannot find out why. iron shots weekly help. in 6 more months they think I can go to monthly shots. strange stuff. we also found out that Hayden has low iron. (my 3yr old)

7. When people say they miss chatting with me and I tell them I am usually up for the day at 3a pst...so between 3a and 7a. we can chat on computer....I usually get dead silence and quick change of subject. hahahah ;) hopefully this will change soon. I am one tired momma,lol.

soooo...that is a bit of stuff in my head.

I have been scrapping quite a bit. Not going to put all the new layouts up here...but if you want to take a peek...here is my gallery I did quick a lot of my CTs...but still had a lot of quest CT spots coming up so do that. I am working with my buddy Bren still and a couple others. I also quit selling at SDK. Not cause I was unhappy there. I love those girlies. I just didn't have 100 percent to give there. Couldn't play in the forums like I should, keep up with the monthly mega kit etc. Just wasn't pulling my weight.

But I had people still wanting to buy my templates. Missed having my scrapping money to buy great goodies...so I joined my old friends over at Scrapdish recently. I can handle their site a bit easier. No forums and just have to do 1/2 of the mega kit contributions so I can handle it better. BTW...they are having a store wide sale right now...very cool stuff over there. fun gals.

so...I will leave it at this for now...I promise to stay on top of this now...I kept thinking...I want to blog...but didn't want to just say hi and leave and knew it would be hard to sum it all up...so I kept putting it off,l ol. first and foremost...big hugs to all who have left me wonderful comments...you make my day.

Monday monday....sure feels good to me. Monday monday.....I am blessed and happpyyyy,lol. What is that age old addage...fake it till you make it? lol. just kidding. I am actually in good spirits. The weather is cooling down here, my momma came back up, my doctors are finally listening to me and I found $37 in my pants pocket...a pair I haven't worn for a while.

The bad news is my room...the craft room...the spare guest room....the one a while back I told you about...it had a life of its own. I would walk by it and it would give a throaty chuckle. In the middle of the afternoon..while everyone was napping...the door would slam shut on it's own. The one when I needed something out of it...I would tie the end of a rope around the door knob and the other around my waist--go in and quickly grab the item and pull myself back to the hall. I got lost in there once...bran had to throw in a life preserver to get me out. I vaguely remember a blue light with floor heighth clouds and eary music playing in the background and some shouting. I also told you all how proud I was that I had cleaned it spic-and-span and organized the H--E--double hockey sticks out of it. And...in my defense...it lasted a LONG time. And...the double closet where I installed shelving and tubs that house there own subsection ie ribbons, adhesives, feathers, beads, pipe cleaners etc....that is stillllll in FINE FORM. But....ahem...shuffle...mumble...talking low with hand in front of my mouth...the rest of hte room...not doing so well my chickadees. Over the last 3 weeks it has quickly become the "catch all room" again. A mom from school is coming over...shove it all in the craft room. MIL coming over....oh crap...Chase...Throw that in the craft room. Why the blankety blank to I have 14 million blankets in this house??? I will throw 20 of them in the craft room until I can part with them. (yes....we all have blanket issues in this house. None of us were breast fed enough obviously. We need comforting and we need it NOW. And we take it in the form of homemade crochet or knitted blankets softer than a newborns bottom. But I MUST draw the line. We have too many. And they are NOT all handmade! I find a supersoft blankey and I buy it. So...whose do we get rid of. Be REAL folks....NONE of mine are going. No way No how. So...I keep shuffling them in the craft room. I still was under the illusion that all was well in Tracy Land. The rest of my house might be under attack: living room is now laundry central. Living room is craft and Homework Bunker. Kitchen has almost everything on the counters...I am in the midst of getting rid of unused items....My room...well...blush...heheheh..ummmmm....does anyone else hold the illusion that I will EVER EVER EVER fit in a size 6 again. ummmm NO. so I have all my size 4, 6 and 8's sitting out all over the place (please note...while single and working...I was quite the shopper...malls and second hand stores...so I have literally 12 BOXES of clothes that I do NOT currently fit in. sighhh. And also keep in mind...months ago...I...ummmmm....got rid of a LOT. My name is Tracy and I have a problem I say as I lovingly caress a pair of 2 inch heels I used to adore and wear every other week. Can I just say...I am feeling a little in mourning for the rockin Hottie I used to be (snicker). Makeup, hair, fashion, diet, exercise...I did it allllll. Now....capri's, t's, ponie tail and lipgloss. sighhhhhh.

so...off on a tangent again. As soon as I get three weeks of iron shots back into me (yup...my levels are all the way at the bottom again..sighhh) I will tackle the Room and The Clothes again.

What are you reading now? What are you watching now? Do you watch things that you feel "ashamed of?" My aunt watches and tapes soaps regularly. I have a guilty pleasure of mystery/CSI/Cop show/movie/book obsession. I also enjoy a couple cheesey sitcoms...shhhhhhhh. Old Christine....hehehehe she cracks me up. I did not get into our book club selection this month....Dispatches from the Edge, by Anderson Cooper ...Between my MIL's cancer and my illness...and my disinterest...shhhhh....not gonna happen. I have very little pesos in my account. I am NOT going to buy this book. I will borrow it and read it,lol. I cannot get over how guilty I feel though. I need to figure out what book to choose next...I get to pick. Hard to pick ones that are available at the library, not too cheesey and that they haven't read, sigh.

speaking of books. I have been thinking about what to do with my used books. I might start an online book share. We join...list what we have...figure out a way to sign up and then just paypal each other the shipping and pass on the books. I have had to buy a lot of books, so this would be cool. I have Memory keepers daughter, a thousand splendid suns, life is good, several james patterson (and TONS of mystery guys and gals) just waiting for me to either take them to the used book store or thrift store.

I am sad to say that I had to quit some teams...I just wasn't able to keep up with everything else going on. But my friend Bren Taylor Boone is coming back with power to knock your socks off...and she will be at Scrapbook graphics. Tune in on the 15th for more news...I will be involved with her.

hi all! happy Saturday!! are you like me and wondering where the week went? I sure feel it is only Wednesday. Geesh. I know Monday was an off day here but still!

So...I have a had a great couple days.

Thursday I worked in Chase's class...can I tell you...it is a night and day difference from last year. Last year was awful for me. I was so sad since I had these high expectations of what kindergarten would be...and it was NOTHING like that. I had issues with the teacher beyond belief. But I am sooooo happy with this year already. Chase's teacher is sweet, funny, CALM, supportive and CALM and organized and happy and CALM!!!! lol The kiddos are so cute and it was a totaly wonderful time!

Then I came home and hung out with my momma and then she helped me to some prep work for schooll

Yesterday mom and I (she is staying part of the week every week, remember) tackled the boy's room with Hayden's help. Got rid of the clothes that were too small, toys that were broken or obsolete and totally organized all the remaining. It was so nice to have help! I do this every other month and it was so much more efficient and pleasant having her there. I must give a shout out to my mom. I am THE luckiest girl in the world. My mom is always there for me....is always there for the boys...never lets me down and loves me to the moon and back. Thank you God for my mom. And for my aunt who is always there when she can be there.

Then we went to a play date at a new friend's house. I met this gal when she called my house to tell me when soccer practice was...she is the coaches wife. Never talked to her before. We talked for 1.5 HOURS that night...lol...she didn't call everyone that night needless to say heheheh. We just hit it off pretty well...and her son ended up in our class (I told her how much she should put Cal in there,lol). And a dear boy Chase had in class last year is in this year too, so they came over today too. And Hayden got to come as well as Davids little sister and dad. There house is BEAUTIFUL...110 years old victorian...kind of house I have always wanted.
The kids played great...we all talked for ever (my momma came too) and hte guys gossiped as much as us, heheh.

Now I am chillin' while momma cooks me some home made chicken fried rice! SPOILEDDDD! I promise to take realllly good care of her in her old age, hehehe.

Hey...did you know that I am spotlighted on the funky playground blog??? yup yup yup. I am a Hybrid Goddess there today...yayyyyayyyy me!

I created a fun hybrid recipe book! and I used the FPD goodies. And I give instructions. And...I have a small template pak for this project free for the taking if you want. I am so stoked. I had this done an eon ago...and couldn't wait to share it with you all.

Today is Chase's first soccer game! woohooo. my aunt, mom, Hayden and I will be going to cheer him on! He has a chance to be a Rockstar this year!! He will be one of hte oldest...it is 6 and under (and he won't be 6 till November, so he is there with 4 year olds and 5 year olds...go Chaseeeee, lol). I felt bad at first...all his friends from school are in the 8-6 year olds and he was a tad bummed. But I was listening to one boy and he was telling Chase....we have to practice twice a week and some of hte kids are REALLY good...my coach yells at us, etc. So...now I am so happy we are on the younger team again, hehehe.

After that...Brandon's cousins want help moving...and of course he is working again, so....that leaves me. Not sure if we are going to make it or not. We will see.

I have been having some DOOZY dreams too. I seriously need to start writing these bad boys down again...they will make some good books or tv movies,lol. holy moly!

Hi all....me again. you remember me...that little chubby brunette who loves to scrap! I am still here. Just keepin up with life...won't go into it all...just will start over from today,lol. Trust me...nothing too exciting to share...lots of booboos, sickies, housework etc.

Chase is joining Boyscouts tonight...he is sssoooooo excited. Been waiting since last year when they so meanly passed out fliers to the kindy classes and I had to tell him you can't join till you are a fist grader. Talk about heartbroken,lol.

My MIL Gillian is doing ok. She got good news...it wasn't in her lymph nodes! Yayayayayya!

My Dad had a relapse but is still getting better.

Everyone is home from their travels...and not allowed to leave me ever again,lol. phew...I am tired.

I scrapped a suprise bday brunch my girlfriends gave me using Misty Maier's (dragonfly desings) gorgeous creations. (and Rachel young's pin pokes) for this. You can find Misty's work at OAKs and PDW.
I loveee this layout (if I do say so,lol) and even made a template out of it in the new pack. I saw the sign for I love you in one of my mags and thought it would make a cool journaling block...so off I went to create it. I did it for one of Elemental Scraps Blog challenges (can you tell I am lovin challenges lately?)using lots of goodies by Sherri Tierney over there...love that dino paper! (Declan kit)

hi guys. so much going on here....once again finding myself saying..I can't believe I haven't blogged in so long!

so...to fill ya'll in.

chase is loving first grade. I mean LOVING it! Hayden is missing him like crazy. Chase lost his first tooth tonight (been working on it since the next one is half in already ;) ). Bran had probs with his heart...went to hospital. he is out and said to be "ok" though still not feeling 100%. My MIL (his stepmom) got diagnosed w/ breast cancer last week and had surgery Tuesday. she is recovering. My dad is really sick...not sure what. he is on oxygen and major drugs at home. Other than that...money is tight and I am grumpy ;) My youngest SD turned 17. More neighbors are moving. my laptop's CD drive won't work anymore. My big computer hasn't had it's working in forever. so back up is not happening except to external hard drive...making me nervous. and today my big computer gave me some quick message upon start up...something about FAT and a dirty volume. greaaatttt. I ran all my spy ware and virus checkers (two of each) and it said all was ok...but??? been just a barrel of fun...but we are getting by with lots of hugs, smiles and chocolate. I am just smiling a LOT,l ol.

My only therapy is scrapping...late at night...here are some layouts. don't think I have shared these here...not going to go back and look though ;)

I also have been wanting to get these out to you guys....a goodie....I hope you like them. they are paper piercings. my friend oriana wanted me to make up some using the holes I did for my stitches. here ya go...I had them done like a month and a half ago...just sitting on my puter. I have some more sets I am making.

(this came ot me after this seeing this crazy lady trying to eat while driving down the hiway. lordy. steering with her knee (not well mind you) and eating the biggest hamburger I have ever seen. window rolled down with music SOOOOO LOUUDDDDDDDDDD. child in seatbelt (small enough to need carseat or booster still) just hanging on for dear life in the back. sighhhh. some people.lol

and don't worry...I am hanging in there...staying pretty upbeat despite it all.

hi chickie poos! how are you all today? I am doing really good. Had an awesome morning with Chase. We looked for his new lunchbox and thermos....went all over town just hanging. Got some great time in together. He is sooooo excited about first grade he cannot even stannnnnnd it! I love him soooooooooooooooooo much I tell ya ;)

I am going to get my hair cut in a bit...neighbor/friend watching the boys. thank you thank you. I took them last time. they were good but getting antsy. I mean...come onnnn, lol. One hour (my gal is a thorough hair cutter,lol). All girls. No real toys. how good CAN they be for goodness sakes mom, lol. Then I will watch hers while she gets her hair cut. Did I whine yet that they are moving? Soon.
wahhhhhhhhhhhh. First my Missy and family left me....now them. hmmmm. I am starting to take it personal :)

I have biggggg tootage. I am on another FAB CT! Yay for me. shaking my booty, lol.

hi there scrappers...how are you all doing today?

I cannot believe that a week has gone by already. wow. I am GOING to get a schedule going and stick to it,lol! man oh man.

so..what have I been up to? spent a lot of time with the boys and their friends. been quite fun,lol. the weather has been a tad cooler than norm, so we like to be outside.

Bran is working hard on the patio...they had to did a hugeeeee trench and put in a drain...a two day job that he and my fil accomplished.

Getting ready for school to start (next monday....sighhhh)

I shoulllldddd be cleaning out the garage,lol...but wink wink wink

I have been gathering supplies for hybrid projects....ohhhh cannot wait to dig in;)

also getting ready to start the next bingo game over at SDK....get those lists in to me and join the fun. everyone gets goodies from me and one winner gets a GC to the store.

happy tuesday my lovelies! hope you are all well. sorry I have been mia again...I am going to stop promising to be around more...seems like when I do, life happens. We are all good and well.

The weather cooled down here for a couple days so that was verrrrry nice! loved it!

boys have been ok...they caught a little summer cold....crazy how that happens...must have been from the store or something seeing as no one we have been around is sick.

We are getting some work done on our house....minor repairs...but hte best thing is our friend used his big ole tractor thing to rip out some huge bushes in our front yard and dug out a big patch of lawn....for......a PATIO! yayayayay. I have been wanting one out there. I think it will allow me to get to know the neighbors more and I will be more willing to let the boys play out front. I don't like to go sit on the side walk in a chair, kwim. so our almost sil will pour the cement for it soon...but up a little wall around it and my aunt is giving us her teak patio set....so this whole thing will be built for just the cost of friendship and cement cost. I am so excited. will take some pics...I hope I got some of the bushes prior to all this.

school is almost here...we start on the 20th! I cannot believe how early it will be. geesh. and Chase will be starting all day school for first grade. how will I be with out him from 8a to 3p? I am welling up every time I think about it. And poor hayden will be heartbroken without his brother. he hatesssss to be without him. sighhhh. we will be two lost souls clinging to each other, heheheh. overly dramatic, I know.

My grandson turns one tomorrow. I can hardly believe it. time flies so fast...especially as I am getting older. sighhhh
